10 Best Biomes to Build a Base in Minecraft
There are a lot of biomes in Minecraft. Some of them are good if you want to collect resources, and others are good for other reasons. Here are some that are great to build a base in!
No.10: Jagged Peaks
No mob or player would try to harm you if you built a base up here! Try and get a secret entrance, so you can get in! A great place to build a base if you’re constantly getting hunted, but not recommended if you have no problems with players or mobs getting to your base. Plus, you get a pretty good view.
No.9: Mushroom Fields
Infinite food, no hostile mobs, so much cool stuff but no wood at all. Bring a sapling before coming here! They’re almost always surrounded by water, so keep a lookout for shipwrecks and ruins!
No.8: End Highlands
Once you’re here, you can find end cities for good loot and farm chorus fruit. Almost nobody would try and find you here, but it’s impossible to respawn here, so beware!
No.7: Desert
Contains desert temples and has no wood, making it difficult for beginners to try and raid your base there. Husks, a deadlier version of the zombie that inflicts hunger to people that it hits will also make it incredibly hard to invade your base due to the lack of food in the desert. Just remember to have a food farm and good gear!
No.6: Basalt Deltas
The basalt deltas have rough terrain that makes it incredibly difficult to cross, and the lava and mobs should probably kill them before they can even get close to your base. Again, you’ll need a secret entrance or you’ll have to cross the terrain yourself!
No.5: Warped Forest
A safe yet deadly biome. Inside the biome, it’s really peaceful and safe, but in order to get there you need to cross deadly biomes and mobs, unless you spawn here!
No.4: Lush Caves
Contains everything you need to survive, so why not turn the whole cave into your giant base? Also, because it’s underground, most players wouldn’t even try to look for it! Just in case though, try and hide some of the more important parts of the base, because a caver could find it!
No.3: Ice Spikes
Ice spikes contain barely anything that you need to survive, which is good because it means that raiders need to come prepared. They’re also guarded by the dangerous strays, which fire arrows of slowness to kill their targets. If you just want a small starter base here, mine into an ice spike and fill it with ladders until you get to the top!
No.2: Jungle
You’ll get everything you need to survive and more here, and you can even build a treehouse on the giant trees! Cocoa beans, melons, wood, jungle temples, what more could you need?
No.1: Plains
A nice, empty place waiting for someone to build a base there. With enough resources to get what you need, the plains is a safe biome and you can build a mega base here with ease! Horses, chickens, cows, sheep and more spawn here, so you can get their drops! You can mine with ease, build with ease, and it’s basically the best place to build a base in.
