5 BEST Secret Bases in Minecraft
Whether you’re trying to hide your diamonds from your friend or just enjoy making secret bases, here are 5 of the best secret bases in Minecraft!
No.5: Easy yet Hard
This base is so simple and easy to make, but can be hard to find. For this, just dig into a random place and build a base there. If you need to leave, break the block and place it back down.
No.4: Into the depths
In your base (that isn’t secret), build a room made of obsidian. It can’t be smaller than 4×5 or bigger than 23×23. Then, use a flint and steel on any of the obsidian blocks. A nether portal will form. You can build a nether base there, and you don’t have to conceal it at all, unless there are people that always go past that area in the nether. When you get back, break the portal.
No.3: Red Herring
Most players would know that paintings=secret base. Most players would walk right through, so you can make a staircase or something that leads to the painting (to increase the chances of them thinking that it leads to a secret base). But behind the painting, put lava or some other deadly trap! You can then build your real secret base somewhere else.
No.2: Witch’s base
Requires a bit of redstone, but it’s actually really easy. It’s also a really great secret base. It works by filling a cauldron to close the door, or emptying it open it. You can disguise it as a tap if you’d like by placing a tripwire hook above it.
Step 1: Build your secret base
Step 2: Place a cauldron
Step 3: Place any opaque block next to the cauldron
Step 4: Place a redstone comparator next to the block. Make sure all three of these things are horizontal to each other.
Step 5: Place a sticky piston and place another block in front of it. It should be able expand, blocking the gap that allows you to walk into your secret base.
Step 6: Connect the redstone dust to your sticky pistons
You can even disguise the cauldron as a toilet or sink, making intruders even less likely to empty them.
No.1: Secret Item Drop Base
I do warn you, this requires a bit of redstone knowledge. How it works is basically by dropping an item at a certain place. Then, a hopper minecart will pick the item up (see picture below). After that, a hopper (which the hopper minecart is on) will collect the item (before putting it into a chest) taken by the hopper minecart, triggering a redstone comparator, which makes a redstone torch (powering a secret piston door) turn off and open the piston door for a second. Don’t understand? Maybe try one of the other bases on this list!
