You know the “things you didn’t know about Minecraft” series and 99% of the things they mention you actually know? Well I’ll talk about the things you actually didn’t know (no promises)!

No.4: You can shoot through honey

If you put two honey blocks together, you can shoot arrows in between them! It functions as a rather effective arrow stilt since enemies can’t really fire back at you. Definitely an underrated use for the honey block, but remember that honey can be broken with your fist in less than a second!

No.3: Prismarine is animated

Prismarine is a block that most people know. But very few people know that it’s actually animated (or they forgot). It slowly changes color from cyan to green to blue to aqua – in other words, a pretty nice animation! You should probably get one in your survival world!

No.2: Stronger Blocks

Some blocks can unexpectedly be stronger than other blocks – and I’m talking about (technically) the same block!

For example, cobblestone takes more time to break than normal stone. Since cobblestone is way easier to get than stone, remember to build your forts out of cobblestone next time!

Other than that, there’s polished blackstone taking a bit more time to break than normal blackstone – useful if cobblestone doesn’t satisfy you?

No.1: Mobs in boats don’t despawn

In order to understand this, you first need to know what despawning is. You see, when a mob exists but a player is far away (and the mob isn’t named with a nametag), the mob disappears. It dies, but it doesn’t. It just – vanishes without a trace, and doesn’t even drop anything.

So, now, you no longer have to go out on crazy odysseys to find nametags to name your pets! Just put them in a boat, but of course, a nametag would probably be better.
