How to be good at Hypixel Bedwars
Bedwars can be a difficult game. Hopefully this guide will teach you how to get better.
How to play:
Your island will spawn with a generator. This generator will produce Iron and Gold and if upgraded, Emerald. First, you need to get iron to buy wool and bridge to other islands. In order to eliminate a team, you need to break their bed, removing their ability to respawn. Once you’ve done that, all you need to do is kill them and they’re out! That means that protecting your bed is important. You need to protect your bed with blocks, from wool to obsidian. Of course, the stronger a block is, the more expensive it is. For example, it costs 4 iron for 16 wool, and costs 4 emeralds for 4 obsidian. You can also buy equipment, such as higher quality weapons.
Best Bed Defences:
Water Vault: 1st layer obsidian, 2nd layer water, 3rd layer End Stone, 4th Layer wood, 5th Layer Glass A Great Defence in squads, or really late-game for other modes and maybe add Iron Golems on the outside for extra defence!
Impenetrable Radar Vault: 1st layer obsidian, 2nd Layer obsidian, 3rd layer Water, 4th layer obsidian A Super-Duper expensive defence (imagine all that obsidian!) and you’re probably wondering why it has the word radar in its name? Well, if an enemy breaks the obsidian and hides there, breaking even more, when he hits the third layer water will come bursting out, changing him from crouching mode to swimming mode so you can see his nametag! And imagine how long it would take to break that obsidian! What if iron golems and traps would guard it too?
Where is it?!?!: On some maps (like the one where all the floor is wood), you can put another layer of the floor (if its made of blocks you can buy) and when the enemy arrives, they’re gonna be like: “WHERE IS IT”, it’s a (possibly) cheap and super effective defence!
Water: This is a cheap, effective, (kinda) block works by disabling explosives and as a cool radar too! It costs a few gold per bucket, but the water infinitely spreads to nearby blocks! What do I mean by Radar? If an enemy is crouching, it puts them into swimming mode if the water touches them, making their name tag visible!
Attacking Strategies:
TNT Jumper of Doom: It took me a while to double TNT jump, and i’m still certain that triple TNT jumps are impossible! It requires you to TNT Jump (or double TNT jump depending on the distance to the enemy island) and placing TNT when you get there waiting for the TNT to explode damage the enemy or run then break the bed (or break it with your Diamond/Gold pickaxe if it has obsidian) Then kill them. It’s a hard one, because you need to know how to TNT jump, be really good at PvP (you need to eliminate an entire team after the damage the TNT dealt to you)!
Sniper Security: You’ll need 2 players for this one, one player has a bow (better if its enchanted) and snipes the enemy, forcing them to take cover. The Sniper also needs a few fireballs in case enemies build a wall. Then, the other player rushes in and breaks the bed and any enemies that come outside get sniped! This strategy isn’t too expensive (the fireballs are gonna cost tons!)
Bombard: Build to the enemy island then build up. When you’re directly above their bed, place down a piece of tnt and it should fall down onto their bed, breaking the blocks there. Doesn’t work against water, glass, obsidian and weak against multiple layers of end stone. Really Common early game nowadays! So i’ll tell you how to protect against it! Get a bucket (or two) of water and pour it over your bed defences! The water makes everything it touches blast resistant!… or just get a fireball or bow and knock them off the bridge… but who can afford fireballs and bows so early into the game?
Plain ol’ rusher: just jumps in the enemy island and breaks their bed… pretty boring and normally doesn’t work
Great Bombing: Have 4 people simultaneously firing fireballs and arrows at the enemy team. Then, after they take cover, two people will go in and break the bed (and kill the enemy if necessary) as well as TNT their cover. When their cover’s been blown up, assistance from the range attackers should show up. This should be enough to annihilate their team!
Prot 4 rusher: Rushes protection 4 armor THEN rushes enemy bases
What to do if your bed is destroyed: If your bed has been destroyed, don’t take any risks. Gather resources and upgrade your equipment. You no longer have to worry about your bed (only your life, and a lot) so you don’t need to be at your base. Diamonds are essential as they can be used to upgrade things such as sharpness, protection and more. If it gets really late into the game and the dragons are spawning soon, dragon buff might be worth it. Once you have good stuff, you can attack the enemy team.
